Often known as Marigolds, Calendulas are shrubs to herbaceous plants, from perennials to annuals, growing 20cm to 1 meter in height. The genus name Calendula is a modern Latin diminutive of calendae, meaning 'little calendar', 'little clock' or possibly 'little weather glass'.
