Harvest 'Lavender hearts and seeds' from Autumns Lughnasadh to Mabon this year in Australia6/5/2018 The abundance one Lavender bush brings, pretty much Spring to Autumn's end - ☽ ✧ - Δ - ✧ ☾ - My harvest of Lavender throughout the year. Once flowers bloom in full over Imbolc (Spring) I harvest the flowers just before they start to wilt. Continuing to harvest throughout the year until Winter or Samhain arrives for once winter arrives the old crone of winter slows the blooms down. Although I harvest these purple lovelies, it's important to not harvest all at once, leaving most of the blooms for bees, butterflies and insects (Bees love lavender :) Once dried, the hearts are salvaged for tinctures, balms, incense, spellwork and ritual. Harvesting the soft heart pillows is a time consuming task especially to separate the seed, so one can see where the expense comes from in buying the hearts being harvested by someone else.
